With her infectious personality and insatiable energy, Vanessa James uses her multi-platform career in music, radio, TV, voiceover and media to inspire others every day. A native South Floridian with Trinidadian and Venezuelan roots, Vanessa is a graduate of The Florida State University with a degree in Spanish and Mass Media Studies. For nearly 12 years, VJ (as she’s widely known) kept Florida on the pulse of all things new in music, fashion, entertainment news, and the happening’s in the community on her popular radio shows in various markets. With radio as the foundation of her media career, she started her professional radio career at Clear Channel Tallahassee as its first Music Director and later the station’s Program Director for WBWT-FM.
2014 is in full swing for Vanessa James Media. She’s adding more television hosting, producing, blogging, and speaking engagements to her resume with the launch of Carnival to the World; a new travel show currently in production with SteadyImage Productions. The shows will showcase Vanessa’s voiceover and storytelling range, on-camera talents, interview skills and overall personality while tapping into uncharted territories including music, culture, local food, new media, lifestyle, art, carnival and fashion. Lastly and most recently, Vanessa has added one more set of hosting duties to her arsenal as she recently signed on with global media brand USAToday to serve as a travel and lifestyle contributor.
