The Adelante Movement

Latina media dynamo and women’s empowerment advocate Nely Galan, dubbed the “Tropical Tycoon” by The New York Times Magazine, is one of the entertainment industry’s savviest firebrand talents. A first-generation immigrant and self-made media mogul, Galan was the first Latina president of a U.S. television network (Telemundo). She is an Emmy Award-winning producer of over 600 episodes of television in Spanish and English, including the Fox reality hit series The Swan, and the first Latina to appear on The Celebrity Apprentice with Donald Trump on NBC. She regularly electrifies audiences with her experiences as one of the first Latina producers in Hollywood and her rise to become a successful media and real estate entrepreneur as well as an inspirational speaker and passionate advocate for the empowerment of Latina’s everywhere.

Nely Galan partnered with Coca-Cola to found The Adelante Movement in 2012, a grassroots program that empowers Latinas to become business leaders and realize their economic dreams.  The mission of the Adelante Movement is to unite and empower Latinas economically, enabling them to create financial prosperity for themselves and their families. As a private/public sector solution, Adelante trains Latinas to start or grow their businesses by offering inspiration, motivation, workshops and resources on entrepreneurship and economic empowerment.

The Adelante Movement (Move Forward!) contributes to The Coca-Cola Company’s commitment to empower 5 million women across the globe, harnessing its vision of economically independent women. By working among the Latina community in the U.S., Adelante helps ensure Latinas can achieve their financial dreams and inspires the next generation of Latina entrepreneurs.
