Harvey Henao is an Account Director and practice leader for FCG Latino, a division of Flowers Communications Group (FCG), a multicultural marketing communications agency. At FCG, Harvey leads Hispanic digital communications strategies for companies such as AT&T, MillerCoors, and Brown-Forman. Prior to joining FCG, Harvey worked at H+K Strategies, where he led corporate communications and provided digital strategy for tech companies such as Qualcomm, First Data, and itelligence. He previously worked at City Colleges of Chicago, where he led multicultural media relations, and at Public Communications Inc., where he supported healthcare and education clients. In addition, he provided crisis and issues support for consumer brands while at Edelman. Before embarking on a PR career, Harvey was a reporter at the Chicago Sun-Times newswire and at the Chicago Tribune’s City News Service. With today’s rise of digital content marketing and the trend toward “social media first,” this background makes him a natural brand journalist and media strategist. Throughout Harvey’s career, his primary responsibilities have included account planning and strategy, social media, and providing client counsel, leveraging his media experience and passion for technology into valuable insights. Harvey currently serves on the board of directors for the Publicity Club of Chicago, the largest independent PR association in the Midwest. A native Chicagoan of Colombian descent, Harvey holds a Master of Arts degree in Journalism from Columbia College Chicago and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
